A few notes on the expense of hiring my service...I charge $50 per hour. This is a very reasonable rate for, perhaps, the best service ever performed on your home. I try to prepare for each appointment as best as I am able by asking pointed questions on the phone. This way I can shop ahead of time or dig in my inventory for required parts, fasteners, etc. Frequently I successfully anticipate material needs. Other times, I cannot avoid going out. I must charge for this time I am frequently asked if I offer senior discounts. Almost all of my clients own their homes, of course. A large majority are women or seniors. I don't charge extra because one client lives in a million dollar home or another finances it with two incomes. So, typically, I do not offer discounts, though in cases of hardship I do soften the bill. I do pay referral fees/rebates, so if you refer a friend to me and we work together, I feel indebted and obligated, at least, to provide a favor in return. |
